Training Support Grants
PAKISTAN APPLICANTS: Due to the broad scope of our program in Pakistan, BEP will no longer be accepting training grant applications through our website. Instead, we will be working closely with our Pakistan colleagues to identify trainings and trainees. We hope that the change in the program will ultimately enable us to more effectively build sustainable capacity for biosafety, infectious disease detection and reporting, and research and development. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the program officers for Pakistan (Sumi Paranjape; Hillary Carter).
FOR OTHER REGIONS
Please note that we have a new Training Support Grant Application.
Please download the application, complete all sections, and send as an email attachment to grants@bepstate.net with the subject "BEP Training Support Grant Application." This is a comprehensive application and should be submitted as a single file in .doc or .docx format.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply at least 120 days in advance of the training event or conference, should they require a visa to the country of travel. If applicants already have a valid visa for the destination, the application must be received at least 90 days in advance of travel.
- The large numbers of training grant applications received make it necessary to limit BEP support to 1 Training Support Grant per person per year; in exceptional cases more than one grant may be approved.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts and make presentations at meetings and conferences.
- It is not possible for BEP to confirm receipt of applications. If your email is undeliverable for some reason, you should receive a message from the server.
- The review and approval process may take up to 4-6 weeks after the submission of the application. Applicants will be informed of BEP decisions via Email from the BEP Review Committee at bep@bepstate.net. Should applicants have any questions or concerns about their application, please send queries to bep@bepstate.net. The BEP Review Committee will only respond on an as needed basis.
- Training grants approved by BEP will be assigned a specific Point of Contact for follow up.
- All grantees must submit a Trip Report to their Point of Contact at BEP within 4 weeks of the completion of travel.
- Once a grant request has been awarded, training or conference choices cannot be changed.
